Meet the Team
Founder, Executive Director: Kerri Hupp
Kerri Hupp is a Texas native, born and raised in West Texas. After completing her Bachelor of Science from Texas Tech University, she found herself serving in various buying and marketing positions with Dallas-Fort Worth based corporate offices. In 2018, she took a huge leap of faith and joined a local foster care nonprofit as their Chief Operating Officer. She has since assumed a consultant role with that organization over marketing and business strategies and is focusing her efforts on addressing her heart’s call to serve male youth rescued from commercial sexual exploitation; a cause unfortunately very closely connected to the foster care system. These boys deserve every effort to support their healing process, reducing their risk of subsequent sexual exploitation and maximizing their opportunities to thrive. Thus, Building 22 was born. Kerri is motivated by 1 Peter 2:9, standing firm on the principle these boys are royalty, set apart for world-changing purposes; that the Creator of the universe determines their identity, not those who have chosen to appropriate their freedom and safety.
But you are God’s chosen treasure —priests who are kings, a spiritual “nation” set apart as God’s devoted ones. He called you out of darkness to experience his marvelous light, and now he claims you as his very own. He did this so that you would broadcast his glorious wonders throughout the world.
Kerri is the adoptive mother of ‘D’, the original Building 22 boy. In addition to serving with a local foster care nonprofit, she is an active volunteer with her church, blogger, and entrepreneur.
